The role of the cylinder

The cylinder is a commonly used power element in mechanical equipment. It converts the pressure energy of compressed air into mechanical energy, and the driving mechanism realizes reciprocating linear motion, swinging or rotary motion.

Types, characteristics and uses of commonly used cylinders

1. Pen cylinder

Pen-shaped cylinder, also known as mini cylinder (or micro cylinder, micro cylinder), is made of stainless steel and aluminum alloy; the characteristics of mini cylinder: low price, compact structure, beautiful appearance, front and rear screw installation and fixed, can effectively save installation space, suitable for High-frequency use requirements, application industries include electronics, medical, packaging machinery, etc.

Precautions for use:

(1). The magnetic switch mounting bracket is required. The installation methods of the magnetic switch are divided into steel belt installation and rail installation.

(2). Connect the cylinder piston rod and the moving parts through the floating joint to make the movement of the moving parts smooth and stable, and prevent jamming.

(3). It is best to leave a margin for the selection of the cylinder stroke.

2. Thin cylinder

Features of thin cylinder:

(1). The advantages of compact structure, light weight and small footprint

(2). The cylinder body is square, and can be directly installed on various fixtures and special equipment without installing accessories;

(3). The cylinder output connecting rod is divided into inner teeth and outer teeth;

(4). It needs to be used with guide elements.

3. Free installation type cylinder

Features of the free installation cylinder:

(1). The stroke is short, and the cylinder body is rectangular;

(2). The cylinder output connecting rod is divided into inner teeth and outer teeth;

(3). The cylinder can be fixed in four directions from the body, with various installation methods.

4. Double shaft cylinder

The dual-axis cylinder is a parallel connection of two single-rod thin cylinders. The characteristics of the dual-axis cylinder are:

(1). The embedded body is installed and fixed, saving installation space;

(2). It has certain guiding, anti-bending and anti-torsion properties, and can withstand a certain lateral load;

(3). The front-end crash pad of the main body can adjust the cylinder stroke and relieve the impact, and the output is larger than that of the single-axis cylinder.

5. Guide rod cylinder

The guide rod cylinder is divided into linear bearing type and copper sleeve type. The linear bearing type is suitable for pushing action, suitable for low friction motion occasions, and the copper sleeve type is suitable for radial load and high load occasions.

Features of the guide rod cylinder: compact structure, can effectively save installation space, has its own guiding function, can withstand a certain lateral load, and can be installed in a variety of ways. It can be used for blocking, feeding, pushing, punching, clamping and other occasions.

6. Slide cylinder

The sliding table cylinder is guided by cross ball guide rails, with low friction force, which can achieve smooth movement without loosening.

Features of slide cylinder:

(1). Compact structure, saving installation space;

(2). High guiding precision, anti-torque and strong load capacity;

(3). The price is relatively expensive.

7. Rodless cylinder

The rodless gas rod does not have the rigid piston rod of the ordinary cylinder, and it uses the piston to directly or indirectly realize the reciprocating motion. Divided into: mechanical coupling and magnetic coupling, the biggest advantage of this type of cylinder is that it saves installation space, and is especially suitable for occasions with small cylinder diameter and long stroke.

Precautions for use:

(1). It cannot be used to fix the middle slider, it must be used to fix the front and rear seats at both ends.

(2). The cylinder avoids direct force, causing the cylinder tube to bend, and finally uses a floating link.

8. Air Claw

Pneumatic gripper is a key component of modern pneumatic manipulators, which can realize various grasping functions. Divided into: parallel gripper, swing gripper, rotary gripper, three-point gripper, four-point gripper.

Features of this cylinder:

(1). All the functions are double-acting, which can realize two-way grasping, automatic centering, and high repeatability;

(2). Grasping torque is constant.

Nine. Swing cylinder

The swing cylinder is divided into two types: rack and pinion type and vane type. The rack and pinion type is used more, which is used for object rotation, turning over, and classification.

10. Rotate down pressure cylinder

The rotary pressing cylinder realizes the function of rotary pressing. The rotation direction is divided into left and right. It is usually used for the structure with compact space to realize the rotary pressing action.
