1. What Is the Airtac TN Series Cylinder?
The TN-series is a twin-rod cylinder, also called a compact guided pneumatic cylinder. It is a double-acting actuator driven by two parallel guide rods for its output assembly. Compared with standard single-rod cylinders, the twin-rod design reduces output rotation and can withstand certain bending and twisting moments. The TN-series delivers more than just higher thrust. It combines multiple functions within one compact unit, like Linear reciprocating motion,Anti-rotation for the output end - Tolerance for specified bending and twisting moments, Multi-direction mounting for workpieces and the cylinder itself, Stroke-end impact reduction and Position sensing with magnetic switches.
2. Key Product Features of the TN Series
2.1 Twin-rod construction for anti-rotation
Two parallel rods restrain the output assembly to minimize rotation and deflection during extension and retraction. This makes the cylinder ideal for jobs where the workpiece must keep fixed orientation, such as pushing, positioning, clamping, lifting and material handling.
2.2 Extended sliding-support guide structure
Its extended sliding-support guide normally works without extra lubrication. Even so, keep rods and guide areas clean during maintenance. Keep dust, metal chips and moisture away from these surfaces.
2.3 Resistance to bending and twisting moments
The twin-rod design shares bending and twisting loads across the output assembly. It performs better than unguided single-rod cylinders when you attach plates, push blocks or small fixtures to the output side.
2.4 Multiple mounting and fixing interfaces
Besides the axial direction, multiple sides of the cylinder provide mounting holes for different installation layouts. This simplifies some machine modification work. Always check dimension drawings for your selected model for exact mounting sizes.
