DNC cylinders set the standard in cylinders conforming to the ISO standard 15552. Cylinders that meet the requirements of ISO 15552 should all be interchangeable with each other meaning that other manufacturers can be replaced with the Festo DNC version. The modern successor to the Standard cylinders DNC is the DSBC. ISO 15552 cylinders also correspond to the withdrawn standards; ISO 6431, DIN ISO 6431, VDMA 24 562, NF E 49 003.1 and UNI 10290 making the Standard cylinders DNC compatible with much older cylinders conforming to the withdrawn standards.
